Type Maps - the journey

We’re having a productive phase right now, it isn’t always so, sometimes we have to do the more mundane tasks involved with the business (the vat return arghh…) but in the coming months more new designs will hit the blog. We’ve just completed our Paris, Melbourne and Sydney type maps. With our type map designs, we typeset each individual place and piece together the map like a jigsaw, layer by layer. They usually take about 50-60 hours to complete.

When we have the first draft complete, two proofreaders set about checking the position and spelling of each place. Here is Paris which has just been scoured by Jane and Sarah, yellow highlighter-tastic.

And also a first draft of Sydney, pieced together with A4 copies ready to undergo the stringent proofread.
